Somewhere inside Dracula's castle, a level designer looked at a perfectly good map screen and said, "What if it just... didn't work?" That's the Hall of Mirrors. It's the most disorienting area in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, a fogged maze where rooms repeat, exits loop, and your own reflection occasionally tries to stab you. This Castlevania Belmont's Curse Hall of Mirrors walkthrough covers everything you need: how to unlock the maze by breaking the four seals, how the hidden map actually reveals itself, the exact room by room route to the Succubus, how to beat her, and every reward worth grabbing along the way. By the end, you'll walk out with The Temptress Arcana, a Legendary weapon and most of your sanity. Grab a snack. Rose is about to do a lot of kneeling.
⚡ Quick Answer
Break the four Mirror of Life seals, free Queen Eleanor in the Main Hall's Mirror Rooms, then kneel at the portal beneath the hooded statues. Inside, activate mirror shrines and kneel at glowing mirrors to reveal rooms, follow the route to the Recurring Belfry, teleport into The Descent Into Memory, and enter Belmont Manor to fight the Succubus.
What Is the Hall of Mirrors in Castlevania Belmont's Curse?
The Hall of Mirrors is an optional area of Dracula's Castle in Belmont's Curse. The game is set in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, and stars Rose Belmont. Most areas reward you for walking into new rooms. This one doesn't. The map starts fully covered in clouds, districts repeat under slightly different versions, and walking farther often puts you right back where you started.
The game launched October 15, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a Switch version too. Evil Empire developed it with KONAMI, and the Dead Cells team at Motion Twin advised. If you haven't grabbed it yet, it's on Steam for $29.99.
| Hall of Mirrors Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Location | Dracula's Castle |
| Boss | Succubus (Belmont Manor) |
| Mirrors of Life (save points) | 5 |
| Completion items | 158 |
| Key loot | 4 relics, 1 Legendary weapon, 6 Heart Fragments, 4 stat books |
📊 Key Stat: Belmont's Curse peaked at 18,261 concurrent Steam players on launch day, a record for the series, and reviews score it around 85 to 86 out of 100. That's a lot of people currently lost in the same maze as you.
How Do You Unlock the Hall of Mirrors?
The maze stays locked until you free Queen Eleanor, and four seals keep her mirror chained. Each seal sits in the Hall of Mirrors Entrance. You reach each one by kneeling at a specific engraved Mirror of Life somewhere in the world.

All Four Mirror Seal Locations
| Seal | Area | District | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Paris Streets | Prison Tower | The middle Mirror of Life |
| 2 | Notre-Dame | East Gallery | Easiest to reach |
| 3 | Clock Tower | Mechanic's Ascent | Left side of the tower |
| 4 | Main Hall | Servants' wing, toward the Archives | Longest trip, do it last |
⚠️ Important: The Clock Tower seal needs Arcane Whip, Holy Light, Aerial Rush and Smash. If you're missing any of these, leave and come back later. Also, the engraved seal mirrors are not fast travel points, so teleport to the nearest normal Mirror of Life and walk.
How to Break Each Seal
- Kneel at the engraved mirror: Rose gets pulled into the Hall of Mirrors Entrance, facing that mirror's seal.
- Smash the floating crystal: Breaking it triggers an ambush.
- Survive every wave: Expect armored knights, gargoyles, flying eyeballs and red flying demons.
- Step through the glowing mirror: It sends you back to the world once the arena is clear.
Freeing Queen Eleanor
When the fourth seal breaks, the chain on Eleanor's mirror snaps. Fast travel to the Ferryman's Wharf in the Main Hall. Push through the Grand Hall, Boudoirs and Waterworks, then drop into the Dungeon. Climb the saw-filled Forgotten Basement, continue through the Torture Chambers and enter the Mirror Rooms. A cutscene plays and Eleanor is free. After that, you can enter the maze through her mirror or through the red portal door in the Servants' Quarters.
Why Won't the Hall of Mirrors Map Reveal Itself?
Because walking doesn't count here. Only two triggers reveal rooms: mirror shrines, which are large mirrors between hooded statues that you interact with (R1 on PlayStation, E on PC), and kneel spots, where a ghostly figure appears. Every time it works, "MAP UPDATED" flashes on screen. The first shrine is in the Threshold of Vision.
Your reflection tells you which mirrors to trust:
| Reflection | What Happens When You Kneel |
|---|---|
| White or blue glow | Points you toward the correct mirror |
| Red glow | Your reflection climbs out and attacks you. Rude. |
| Plain, normal reflection | Sends you back to the start, a handy reset if you're lost |
| Deep in the maze | Reflections stop pointing. Find the one normal mirror among mirrors with shades inside. |
When I first dropped into the Hall of Mirrors, I did what any confident vampire hunter does: I picked a direction and ran. Twenty minutes later, I had seen the Corridor of Déjà Vu so many times I started greeting the same Spear Guard by name. The breakthrough came when I stopped treating it like a map and started treating it like a combination lock. Every "MAP UPDATED" message meant I had turned a tumbler. Every room without one meant I was just doing cardio. Once that clicked, my second run took a fraction of the time.

That's the real trick, and it's my main takeaway. Classic Castlevania once flipped its castle upside down to mess with you. The Hall of Mirrors flips the logic instead. Your position in the maze is less about where you stand and more about which version of a room you're in. If you notice repeat districts like Familiar Way, Steps of Misdirection or the Recurring Belfry cycling past, stop pushing forward and hunt for a shrine or kneel spot.
Hall of Mirrors Complete Walkthrough: The Route to the Succubus
Follow these steps closely. Room versions shift around you, so improvising tends to end in tears.
- Enter the portal: Kneel at the mirror portal beneath the hooded statues in the Main Hall. Rose ducks through and lands on an upper pedestal.
- Tower of Worldly Reflection: Drop through the floor and ride the long, mirror-lined shaft all the way down.
- Threshold of Vision: Head right past shield knights and a flyer that shoots projectiles. Activate the shrine and the Mirror of Life here.
- Servants' Refectory: Grapple down and beat the two club-swinging brutes. Sypha's ghost appears. Kneel at the nearby mirror to teleport.
- Hall of Hallucination: Wall jump into the next hallway, where Medusa and Leon chat. Then fight through the winged enemies and crawling fiends.
- Glass Gallery: Grapple past rotating buzzsaws and spiked walls. Some doors reposition you inside the room, so drop down, dash left to reappear in the upper right corner, then take the bottom right exit.
- Switch room: Clear the shield knights and javelin throwers, hit the switch to open the top left passage, then exit left into the Dead-end Tower.
- Dead-end Tower: Dodge the spinning sword ring, then dash and wall jump over spike floors and saws toward Familiar Way.
- Familiar Way: Skip the lower route and climb the stairs into the Chamber of Secrecy. Hit the switch here first to open a shortcut.
- Chamber of Secrecy: Avoid the saw blades and thorny black vines, take the top left exit, hit the switch and grapple up.
- Passage of Perplexity: Dodge another sword wheel, kill the red spear sentries and talk to the second Sypha apparition. Grapple overhead and kneel at the mirror.
- Red-lit tower: Take the right exits, climb the unstable wall and slam down through the platforms into the Recurring Belfry.
- Recurring Belfry: Drop down, take the right doors and kneel at the mirror for the final teleport. Smashing the big central mirror here fully opens the path.
- The Descent Into Memory: Save at the Mirror of Life on the right, walk down the red staircase, use the last shrine, and step through the glowing red doorway into Belmont Manor.
💡 Pro Tip: The whole map fills in the moment you reach The Descent Into Memory, before you even fight the boss. If you only want the layout for exploring, getting there is enough.
How Do You Beat the Succubus in the Hall of Mirrors?
In the fireplace hall, a ghost pretending to be Rose's mother Sypha tries to trick her. Rose sees through it, and the ghost becomes the Succubus. Family reunions in this series are never normal.
| Succubus Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 8,000 |
| Attack | 50 |
| XP | 1,200 |
| Reward | The Temptress Arcana (Life Drain spell) |
Her moveset includes horizontal spear thrusts, fast dashes, projectile slashes, blood beams, floating clones and a web of lasers across the middle of the arena. She can also drain your HP to heal herself, so long fights tilt in her favor.
Here's the build lesson most players learn the hard way: she's immune to almost all crowd control. Freeze, petrify, stun, slow, launch and slam effects do nothing. If your build leans on control spells, swap to raw damage before you walk down those red stairs. Bleed and burn are not on her immunity list, so stack them and keep pressure on her.
💡 Pro Tip: Stay out of the center when the laser web starts and dodge through her dashes instead of jumping over them. Since she heals by draining you, taking fewer hits matters more here than squeezing in extra damage.
What Secrets and Rewards Are in the Hall of Mirrors?
| District | Reward |
|---|---|
| Level Deviled | Bernhard's Wrath (Legendary gauntlets) |
| Steps of Misdirection | Haunting Relic (timed sawblade trial) |
| Dead-end Tower | Crystallized Blood (relic) |
| Delived Level | Dusk Amulet (relic) |
| Servants' Refectory | Sand Charm (relic) |
| Looping Hallways, Ballroom of Terror | ATK UP books plus Heart Fragments |
| Corridor of Déjà Vu | DEF UP book |
In Level Deviled, smash the shard inside each archway to drop the barriers, because that's where Bernhard's Wrath hides. In the Recurring Belfry, kneeling at the center of the upper balcony shatters a mirror and opens the way up to the Ballroom of Terror. The Temptress also comes with three Works of Mercy: drain an enemy for five straight seconds, kill 25 enemies with Life Drain, and explore every room in the Hall of Mirrors.
My recommended order saves a second trip. Collect the Clock Tower abilities first. Clear the Paris, Notre-Dame and Clock Tower seals, and save the Main Hall seal for last since Eleanor is right next door. Then do one thorough pass of the maze, grabbing Bernhard's Wrath and the relics on the way to the boss. Revealing every room for 100% also ticks off that exploration Work of Mercy, which turns one headache into two checkmarks.
"We know how important it is to keep the legacy of the franchise."
You can feel that legacy in the Hall of Mirrors. It's a very old Castlevania idea (the castle itself is lying to you) built with modern tools. Even Medusa admits in game that she can't tell truth from fiction in this place, and she has snakes for hair.
What Do You Do After the Hall of Mirrors? Finding The Sage
Beating the Succubus doesn't finish Eleanor's story. A statue clue in the Heart of the Maze reveals she fled to Holy Innocents' Cemetery. Fast travel to the Serpents' Lair mirror, teleport to Pauper's Grave, and fight through the Mausoleum of the Kings. At the end, Eleanor reveals who she really is and hands Rose The Sage Arcana with the Mirror Walk spell. It drops a mirror you can warp back to, and it can even save you from one fatal blow per Save room visit. Grab the Brave and Wise Heart Fragments in the Mausoleum on the way.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you unlock the Hall of Mirrors in Castlevania Belmont's Curse?
Break the four Mirror of Life seals in Paris Streets, Notre-Dame, the Clock Tower and the Main Hall by kneeling at each engraved mirror and clearing its arena. The fourth seal snaps the chain on Queen Eleanor's mirror. Free her in the Main Hall's Mirror Rooms, then kneel at the portal beneath the hooded statues.
Why is the Hall of Mirrors map not revealing?
The map only reveals rooms when you activate a mirror shrine or kneel at a marked spot. Walking around does nothing. Watch for the "MAP UPDATED" message, trust blue or white reflections, avoid red ones, and the full map fills in once you reach The Descent Into Memory, just before the boss.
What does the Succubus drop in Belmont's Curse?
The Succubus grants The Temptress, Arcana number 12, which unlocks the Life Drain spell. Hold the spell button and Rose drains the closest enemy, dealing damage while restoring her own health. The fight also awards 1,200 XP. The Temptress has three Works of Mercy, including exploring every room in the Hall.
Where is Bernhard's Wrath in the Hall of Mirrors?
Bernhard's Wrath, a pair of Legendary gauntlets, sits in Level Deviled, a short trip west of the Main Hall side of the maze. You'll need to clear an arena fight and break the shards inside the archways to drop the barriers. It's easy to sprint past, so smash every shard you see.
Where does Eleanor go after the Hall of Mirrors?
Eleanor flees to Holy Innocents' Cemetery once the maze is cleared. Fast travel to the Serpents' Lair mirror, teleport to Pauper's Grave, and push through the Mausoleum of the Kings. At the end she hands Rose The Sage Arcana, which unlocks Mirror Walk, a handy teleport and survival spell.
Is the Hall of Mirrors required to finish Belmont's Curse?
No. The Hall of Mirrors is an optional area, but skipping it means missing The Temptress and The Sage Arcana, Bernhard's Wrath, four relics and six Heart Fragments. If you care about upgrades, Arcana completion or a stronger Rose for the final stretch, it is absolutely worth the headache.
Is the Hall of Mirrors Worth It?
Absolutely, once you know the rules. The Hall of Mirrors only feels broken if you play it like every other area. Treat it as a lock instead of a map: trust the glowing reflections, chase every "MAP UPDATED" message and follow the route above. You'll walk out with two Arcana, a Legendary weapon, a pile of upgrades and a deep, personal distrust of your own reflection. Now go kneel at things, vampire hunter. Paris isn't going to save itself.
