Deltarune Pink Coin Locations: Foxes Breakout Guide and the Complete Mystery Key Checklist

Deltarune Chapter 5 dropped on June 24, 2026, and within 24 hours nearly 300,000 players were inside the Flower Kingdom hunting secrets. One of those secrets has already caused collective suffering on every gaming forum imaginable: the Deltarune pink coin locations. There are 19 of them. You need 10 to buy the Mystery Key. The key opens the Pink Door. Behind the Pink Door lives a secret boss who will absolutely rearrange your face. If you are reading this, you are probably short on coins and increasingly frustrated. That stops here. This guide covers the complete Foxes Breakout walkthrough, all 19 flowery pink coin locations grouped by area, exactly how to get the Mystery Key from the Cliff Shop, and a few things most guides quietly leave out.

Quick Answer

There are 19 pink coins in Deltarune Chapter 5, found in pink chests and pink bells across the Garden, Cliffs, and Castle areas. You need 10 to buy the Mystery Key from the Cliff Shop. The Foxes Breakout at the Second Diner gives 1 pink coin for finding all 5 hidden foxes. Extra coins buy exclusive gear after defeating the secret boss Pink.

Why Pink Coins Matter and Why Stopping at 10 Is a Mistake

According to the official Deltarune Wiki, pink coins are a currency exclusive to Chapter 5's Flower Kingdom. They show up in pink chests and by striking pink bells during the chapter's 2D platforming segments. You cannot farm them, and each source yields exactly one coin, so there are exactly 19 available per playthrough.

Key Stat: Deltarune Chapter 5 set a new concurrent player record of 291,816 on Steam within its first 24 hours, more than double the previous chapter's peak, according to Dual Shockers. That's a lot of people stuck on the same pink coin hunt right now.

The 10-coin threshold to buy the Mystery Key is the hard gate into the Chapter 5 secret boss fight against Pink (also known as Mad Mew Mew returning from Undertale). But the remaining 9 coins are not wasted. After you defeat Pink, a post-fight shop opens where each piece of exclusive flower-themed gear costs 3 pink coins and 100 Flowery Dollars. You can only buy 3 items, so the math works out to exactly 9 extra coins being useful, then anything left evaporates. Collect as many as you reasonably can before the point of no return.

One critical prerequisite: you cannot access any pink coin until you have the Petal Feather. Games.gg's pink coin guide notes that the Petal Feather, earned by defeating the Aqua boss, is what activates the 2D platforming sections throughout the Flower Kingdom. Without it, every pink chest and pink bell stays out of reach. Defeat Aqua first, then begin the coin hunt.

Pro Tip: Finish the main story first before doing serious coin cleanup. Completing the story unlocks a magic door at the top of Flower Castle that fast-travels you between the Garden, Cliffs, and Castle. Trying to collect all 19 before finishing is possible, but extremely inefficient.

There is also a fallback option for completionists who miss coins. A character named Ferroll, found in the Cliffs area after Pink has been defeated, will appear in the Pink Fight Room and offer to identify which areas still have coins, at a cost of 50 Flowery Dollars. She tells you the count per zone, but not the exact spots, so this guide still matters even if you use her service.

The Foxes Breakout: Complete Walkthrough for All 5 Foxes and the Secret Room Pink Coin

The Foxes Breakout is what the community is calling the fox-catching puzzle at the Second Diner inside Flower Castle. When you reach this area, a character named Aqua blocks your path and demands you bring her three foxes hidden in the immediate area. Three foxes gets you past Aqua. But there is a locked door directly behind her, and that door only opens when you have found all five.

I spent an embarrassing amount of time on this section on my first run. Aqua accepted my three foxes, I moved on, and I didn't realize until I was doing post-story cleanup that a locked room was sitting right there the whole time, holding an entire pink coin hostage. Do not make my mistake. Get all five on your first pass through the area.

All five foxes are concentrated in the Second Diner fox-statue area. There is no chapter-wide backtracking needed. Here is every location.

Fox 1: The Hidden Paw Behind the Paper Walls

Before you enter the main statue room, head right of the door and walk behind the paper screens. You will see a gauntlet of floating paw-shaped projectiles moving up and down. Dodge through the first four carefully. Further along, the gap between two paws in the chain is noticeably wider than the others. That wide gap is not an opening. One of those paws is a fox in disguise. Games.gg's fox guide specifies it is the fourth paw from the left in that longer chain. Stand inside it without taking damage, interact with X or A, and carry it back to the front to bank your first fox.

Fox 2: The One Running Around the Statue Room

Enter the main room through the door beside Aqua. Inside, past the rows of Terracotta figurines, a fox is hopping freely in the crowd. Get close and it will bolt, weaving between the statues. Chase it until it runs out of room and gives up. This is one of the three story-required foxes, so if you have already passed Aqua, you have already caught this one.

Fox 3: The Statue That Is Not a Statue

Head to the bottom-right corner of the Terracotta statue room. Look at the bottom row of figurines and find the one that is second from the far right edge. Get directly behind it and press X or A to push it off the ledge. As it falls, it transforms into a fox. Catch it before it wanders.

Fox 4: The Dancing Fox Behind the Curtain

From the Terracotta room, take the doorway in the top-right (northeast) corner. Inside, a group of silhouettes hop behind a paper screen. Hit the switch or stand on the blue button in front of the stage to lift the curtain. Only one of the shapes is a real fox. The method recommended by TheGameSlayer: place one of the stones onto the button itself, then walk straight to the fox and grab it. This lets you keep the curtain raised without needing to hold anything down.

Fox 5: Yellow's Dressing Room

Return to the Terracotta room and go to the top-left (northwest) corner. A statue is blocking the way. Push it aside to reveal a hidden door. Inside is a small room with a paper screen showing Yellow in what appears to be a private moment involving a change of boots. Interact with the screen, the ruse collapses, and Yellow is revealed to be a fox. That is your fifth.

Important: The locked door behind Aqua only opens automatically after you collect all five foxes. Three foxes pass Aqua's story gate, but the secret door requires five. If the door is still shut, you are missing at least one fox in this immediate area.

The Secret Room: Your Pink Coin Reward

Once all five are collected, the locked door opens. Walk through and you will find a single fox sitting quietly at the far end of the room. Interact with it. The fox dissolves into a pink chest. Open the chest to receive one pink coin. This is Fox Room pink coin, one of the 19 total, and a coin that many players miss entirely by never backtracking.

All Deltarune Pink Coin Locations: Garden Area (4 Coins)

The Garden is the first major area of the Flower Kingdom and holds four pink coins. All require the Petal Feather to reach, since they are gated behind the 2D platforming sections that activate once Aqua is defeated.

Garden Coin 1: Watering Can Lake Room

From the Garden area where you first pick up the Watering Can, use it to create a grassy path heading left. Follow the path all the way to the top of the room. A pink chest waits at the summit, sitting above what functions as a small lake chamber. If you are on your first visit, grab this immediately as it sits directly on the main exploration route.

Garden Coin 2: Temple Roof Pink Bell

In platforming mode, head left of the temple and climb the beanstalk by jumping up the leaves. Reach the top, then move right onto the temple roof. Jump right once more to land on a leaf, then a second leaf. The pink bell is at the end of that second leaf. Strike it to receive the coin.

Garden Coin 3: Flowery's Beginner Room

This is the room where Flowery assists you against the Floradinn enemy. Bring the water canister and create a path to the left from the scissors section. Follow that path all the way to the top of the room. There is a pink chest there. Collect it on your first visit because backtracking to this room is annoying.

Garden Coin 4: Torii Gate Dash Bell

Head right of the HopsChef area and complete the platforming section. Look for a Torii Gate at the end of the room and dash through it. After the dash completes, ring the pink bell at the destination. If gaps look too wide to jump normally in this zone, a Torii Gate nearby is almost always the answer.

Pro Tip: Also in the Garden, behind the door on the right side of the Tropical Starwalker Bird fight: after defeating the bird boss, continue right, climb the vines left until you can exit platforming mode, enter the cave, and go through the dash gate. Dodge the falling stars and hit the pink bell at the end for a chest. That is a fifth Garden-adjacent coin that some guides count under Cliffs.

All Deltarune Pink Coin Locations: Cliffs Area (4 Coins)

The Cliffs area has four coins spread across two climbing routes. Using the magic door's fast-travel to the First Climb and Netskie Climb points makes this section far less painful after the story is done.

Cliffs Coin 1: Vine Climb Pink Bell

Fast-travel to the First Climb location. Head right and climb using the vines. After ascending, the path curves left. Find the Mysterious Structure next to a set of petals, activate it, and jump left. You will drop down, but use Ralsei to climb back up and jump mid-air to the correct ledge. A pink coin bell waits there.

Cliffs Coin 2: Falling Water Coin

Exiting the previous coin's area via the petals places you near a second set of vines. Climb them and move right while avoiding falling rubble. At the far right end of the path, this coin sits directly under a stream of falling water. Position carefully and grab it.

Cliffs Coin 3: Windmill Ride Cave Bell

Head to the shop in the Cliffs area and continue right until you reach two windmills. Activate the first windmill to set the giant flower platforms in motion. Drop to the vines below, then attach Ralsei to the underside of a moving flower and ride it while avoiding the spinning blades. This carries you to a cave opening. Clear the enemies inside and collect the pink coin bell at the end. Use the second windmill afterward to return to the main path.

Cliffs Coin 4: Netskie Climb Dash Cave

Fast-travel to the Netskie Climb point. Climb the vines but branch right instead of left when you reach the split. Find the Mysterious Structure in the cave ahead, activate it, then complete the dash section without falling. The pink coin bell is at the end of the dash run.

All Deltarune Pink Coin Locations: Castle Area (11 Coins)

The Castle is where the majority of coins live, split across East, West, and Top sections. This is also where most players spend the most time and get the most confused. The Foxes Breakout coin covered earlier counts toward this section.

Key Stat: Out of the 19 total pink coins, 11 are found in Castle zones, making it the area with the highest concentration by far. According to Games.gg, most players who end up short on coins have missed at least 3 in the Castle East or West sections.

Castle Coin 1: Flowery Jukebox Room Upper Door

Start at the room with Flowery and the jukebox. Head right across the bridge and enter the paper door on that side. Continue all the way to the right and then move upward. The pink coin is behind the paper door immediately above your arrival point at the top.

Castle Coin 2: Shadow in the Door

From the Green's Cafe area, go right and then into the next room. You will notice the shadow of a chest visible through a door. Open the door, go around, and open the chest on the other side for the coin. Easy to walk past if you are not paying attention to silhouettes.

Castle Coin 3: Fox Room Secret Pink Coin

This is the coin from the Foxes Breakout covered in detail above. Find all five foxes, open the locked secret room, and interact with the fox inside to transform it into a pink chest.

Castle Coin 4: Terracotta Statue Puzzle Chest

Push all the Terracotta statues off the ledges in the lower levels of the Castle. Clearing them opens a path to a chest holding a pink coin. This is in the same general area as the Foxes Breakout statue room.

Castle Coin 5: Elevator Puzzle Room Bell

Return to the room where the chest was hidden behind the door (Coin 2 area). Head down and left to take the elevator. It leads to a platforming puzzle room. Solve the puzzle, activate platforming mode, and reach the pink bell at the top to claim the coin.

Castle Coin 6: Sliding Puzzle Bell

Head to the room where a fox turned into a chest earlier (Fox Room area). Take the stairs upward and go left. Solve the sliding block puzzle in that room. With Ralsei's vine as an assist, you can reach the bell hanging at the top for this coin.

Castle Coin 7: Blue's Room Flower-Bounce Climb

Fast-travel to Blue's Room via the magic door. Continue right through several rooms until you reach a room filled with bouncy flowers. Use the flowers to bounce your way up. This is one of the more punishing climbs in the chapter. Falling sends you back to the start of the bouncing sequence, so patience is not optional here. The coin sits at the very top.

Castle Coin 8: East Castle Puzzle Room Bell

Head through the Terracotta warriors room and the spinning knives room. Alternatively fast-travel directly to the East Castle puzzle room if unlocked. On the right side of this room, activate the pink bell for the coin.

Castle Coin 9: Orange Room Boxing Glove Secret

In the room with the rotating orange boxing gloves, look for a white wall on the right side. Hit the boxing gloves so they smash through the wall. Enter the hidden room and strike the orange glove again to receive this pink coin.

Castle Coin 10: Mushroom Timed Puzzle

This one is timed, and it is mean about it. You need to place two mushrooms in their designated spots. The first mushroom can be placed at your own pace on the left to deactivate the spikes. The second mushroom, carried from the far right, has to reach its spot before a fox appears and eats it. Move fast. Get it in the hole and the pink chest opens.

Important: Do not confuse the sun/color-change check you may encounter in the Castle with the five-fox sequence. This fast-moving color-shifting object is a separate optional puzzle tied to its own pink coin. It is not a sixth fox. Many players waste time thinking they missed a fox when they are actually looking at an unrelated collectible mechanic.

Castle Coin 11 (Top Section): Windmill Drop Final Coin

This coin sits in the Castle's Top section, just beside the Pink Door itself. Reach the top area after Green's final shop by going left when the main story would have you go right. Activate the windmill to generate airflow and descend, slashing flowers as you fall to clear a path while avoiding rings of fire. At the very bottom of this descent, the coin sits right next to the Pink Door. Collect it, then use the fast-travel save point at the Pink Door before you leave.

"Sorry to keep you waiting! DELTARUNE Chapter 5 will launch simultaneously worldwide on all platforms on June 24 at 11:00am EDT."

How to Buy the Mystery Key and Use It on the Pink Door

Once you have 10 pink coins, the Mystery Key is available for purchase at the shop in the Cliffs area. If you have fast travel enabled, open the magic door and select Cliffs, then Shop. Game Rant confirms the cost is exactly 10 pink coins with no additional currency required for the Key itself.

With the Mystery Key in inventory, the path to the Pink Door starts at Green's final shop. Head right from there, hit the perspective shift switch, then climb to the very top of the area. At the top, go left. You will enter a platforming gauntlet: bounce across moving flowers using your sword, avoid floating knives, and watch for a Winged-Deltarune symbol that marks a downward exit. Optional platforming is available to the left if you are hunting the last coin there.

A pinwheel appears further along. Activate it to destroy the platform beneath you and descend through a gap in the blue flowers, slashing as you fall. There are also ring-shooting guns in this section. Focus only on your Soul movement. At the bottom of the descent, the Pink Door and the final coin are both waiting. Use the Mystery Key on the door.

Pro Tip: Register the fast-travel save point at the Pink Door before you enter. If you die during the fight inside and need to restock healing items, you can return without replaying the entire platforming and pinwheel descent sequence. That pinwheel section does not get less annoying on the second attempt.

What to Do with Extra Pink Coins After Beating Pink

Beating Pink (Mad Mew Mew) unlocks a shop behind the arena. Six exclusive flower-themed weapons and armor pieces are for sale, each modeled after a fallen human's treasure from Undertale lore. You can only buy three of them in a single playthrough. Each item costs 3 pink coins plus 100 Flowery Dollars.

That means the maximum useful pink coin count post-key is 9 (for 3 items at 3 coins each). The total economy: 10 coins for the Mystery Key plus 9 coins for three gear pieces equals exactly 19, which is the total available. No waste, no excess. Toby Fox planned this perfectly, and it is slightly infuriating how clean it is.

Note: Once all three post-Pink gear items are purchased, the remaining flower items disappear from the shop and a free FloweryScarf takes their place. Any pink coins beyond the 19 that are hacked in do not extend the shopping limit, as the Deltarune Wiki confirms the purchase cap is hard-coded.

Route advice: if you are on your first playthrough and leaning pacifist, the knife for Kris is less valuable since you will rarely use the Fight command. If you prefer an aggressive playstyle, Blue's weapon for Ralsei (which reduces Pacify's TP cost to zero) becomes less essential. Plan your three purchases around your combat style before you enter the Pink fight, because you cannot restock coin count mid-chapter.

The Mystery Key Is Worth Every Single Coin

Deltarune Chapter 5 launched four days ago and has already become one of the most searched gaming topics of June 2026. The pink coin system is elegant in hindsight: 19 coins total, exactly 10 for the key, exactly 9 left over for three gear items at 3 coins each. Nothing wasted, every coin doing a job. That same precision is what makes the Foxes Breakout so satisfying once you understand why you need all five and not just three.

If you go into the Pink fight with your items stocked, the fast-travel point registered at the Pink Door, and a firm idea of which three gear pieces you want post-victory, you are as prepared as any Chapter 5 player can be. The rest is bullet pattern patience and a willingness to flirt aggressively, which is more or less how Toby Fox approaches game design in general.

Good luck out there. My therapist is still not returning my calls, but at least I have a Shadow Crystal to show for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pink coins do you need in Deltarune Chapter 5?

You need a minimum of 10 pink coins to buy the Mystery Key from the Cliff Shop and access the Chapter 5 secret boss fight. There are 19 total in the Flower Kingdom. Collecting all 19 is recommended because the remaining 9 coins can purchase three exclusive gear items after defeating the secret boss Pink.

Where do I buy the Mystery Key in Deltarune Chapter 5?

The Mystery Key is sold at the shop in the Cliffs area of the Flower Kingdom for 10 pink coins. If fast travel is unlocked via the magic door at the top of Flower Castle, select the Cliffs destination and then head to the Shop. No additional currency is required beyond the 10 pink coins.

How do I unlock the Foxes Breakout secret room in Deltarune?

Find all five hidden foxes in the Second Diner area of Flower Castle. Three foxes satisfy Aqua's story requirement, but the locked door behind her only opens after all five are collected. The foxes are hidden among paw projectiles, in the statue crowd, disguised as a Terracotta model, behind a curtained stage, and in Yellow's hidden dressing room.

What is the Pink Door in Deltarune Chapter 5 and how do I open it?

The Pink Door is a locked entrance at the top of Flower Castle that leads to Chapter 5's secret boss fight against Pink (Mad Mew Mew). It can only be opened using the Mystery Key, which is purchased for 10 pink coins at the Cliff Shop. Reaching the door requires completing a platforming and pinwheel descent section above Green's final shop.

Can you find more pink coins in Deltarune after you buy the Mystery Key?

Yes. Buying the Mystery Key costs 10 coins and does not prevent collecting the remaining 9. Those extra coins become available to spend at the post-Pink gear shop after defeating the secret boss. Pink coins cannot be farmed and only 19 exist, so each one is permanent and finite per playthrough.

What do extra pink coins do after beating Pink in Deltarune?

After defeating Pink, a shop opens with six exclusive flower-themed weapons and armor pieces modeled after Undertale's fallen human relics. Each item costs 3 pink coins and 100 Flowery Dollars. You can only buy three items per playthrough. After the third purchase, remaining items disappear and a free FloweryScarf replaces them.
