Sally Face is a five-episode indie horror point-and-click adventure game developed entirely by solo developer Steve Gabry (known online as Portable Moose). The concept was first sketched around 2006 to 2007, originally imagined as a boy with a girl’s face literally sewn on, later refined into the now-iconic prosthetic mask. Gabry wanted the game to capture the look and feel of 90s Nicktoons like Hey Arnold and Rocko’s Modern Life, but layered with psychological horror and deeply mature themes. Sal Fisher, known as Sally Face, is the tragic and resilient protagonist.
